I almost passed out seeing your video. I literally just finished working out and ate some cocktails shrimp from Central Market. Luckily I didn’t have a reaction but wow this is great to know. I hope you get to feeling better quickly

I think because you ate after the work out? Good thing you didn’t have any reaction!

When I saw those hives I knew it was some sort of allergy. I’m allergic to shrimp normally exercise or not. And I get those exact hives and some throat swelling.

Never knew it could be a combination of things causing an allergic reaction before. Learning new stuff all the time! It’s great not knowing everything 💖🤩 there’s always more to learn 😍

Could be the location they are harvested or the way it’s packaged and sealed.

This happened to me a few years ago!! I had shrimp at a friend’s house and then went to the gym like an hour later. I was running on the treadmill when I started to feel my face get weirdly warm and mildly itchy. I just tried to ignore it, but then I noticed that some people were staring at me. So I went to the bathroom and saw that I had a bunch of hives on my face. I was so embarrassed but also worried

something similar happened to my mum a few weeks ago after she went for a walk, she said her legs got rlly like itchy and sore, it was fine an hour later tho – idk what she ate that day but a few days ago she was diagnosed with calcium deficiency so that could be something too idk

I once ate mushrooms in lunch, and developed rashes on MY WHOLE BODY+fever for the rest of the day…
Took medicines and got relieved the day after.
Idk what happened cuz none of my other family members got any reaction to mushrooms and i ain’t even allergic 🤷

I’ve had the same thing happen to me 3 times, years apart! But didn’t know it was the exercise that made it happen! 😨 Just thought I’d had bad shrimp! But now, it totally makes sense, since the hives has always come when I ate shrimp and then went on brisk walks or ran for the bus!

I also got hives recently because I started using some new skincare and I was allergic to it. So I put some cold aloe vera gel (i like to put mine in refrigerator 😁but you can use it normally too) and it really helps with it.

This happened to my husband!!! For years he’s told this story about a seafood dinner at a restaurant his mother insisted on and going for a run and winding up in the hospital with a severe allergic reaction but had never been allergic before!!! He’s always blamed the restaurant or the detergent in the towels at the gym!!!

Omg I used to break out in hives just like this when it was cold or windy outside. Good thing I eventually grew out of it but it was awful as a teen.

I’m just allergic to shrimp, but I think we should all be aware of that. Thanks for telling us! 👍

I had this happen to me, but it wasn’t shrimp-induced, it was just exercise induced and totally random. I always carry some emergency Benadryl and Claritin with me now…ALWAYS. Hope you get better soon!

I don’t ever eat shrimp but when I run outdoors everything breaks out in hives, and I am unknown of having allergies, I never touch things, and even happens when I’m fully covered up. This doesn’t happen when I walk outside, so I either walk outside or run indoors. I’m allergic to running I guess 🤷🏻♀️

The same thing happened to my boyfriend. He was home alone and when he came back home from a run he started to feel bad and break out in hives…soon he couldn’t breathe and his whole body swelled up and had stomach cramps….while he was on the toilet his throat kept swelling and he couldn’t breathe… he thought he was about to die but luckily my mum came home…it was so scary cause all of this happened when I was at school and I had no idea…I don’t even want to think if my mum didn’t come home….

Until you got to the shrimp, I thought sure you were going to say you had hot/cold urticaria. My youngest daughter has the cold version, now, at 22, she’s mostly outgrown it, but when she was younger, negative temperature changes made her break out in hives, and a few times she went into full anaphylaxis. This though, tops that for weird hive conditions… I’m glad it at least doesn’t seem to be as severe.
