I started taking probiotics and digestive enzymes supplements after my gallbladder removal and they’ve very much helped with digestion
I was wondering how those digestive enzymes work. My gallbladder has been gone for 30yrs. Does it slow down your system as in if you have a high fiber meal or fatty meal with keto, it doesn’t flush right out? If you know what I mean? lol
@Krystal My There are different types of digestive enzymes, and they simply help break down the food and make the nutrients more absorbable. I don’t know of any that slow down the absorption. ACV, apple cider vinegar, before meals is a blood sugar leveler, and it’s known to slow down absorption of food.

I heard that if you have sibo you shouldnโt use probiotics because it can make it worse?

Switch back and forth between 2 different Prebiotics+probiotics & digestive enzymes every day with a kefir cocktail for bacteria diversity occasionally. I’ve taken antibiotics in the past. In recent years I’ve opted for colloidal silver internally and topically in gel when needed.

In Poland when a doctor prescribes antibiotics, you are always prescribed a probiotic supplement. I was told years ago, by a colleague in Romania, to always take antibiotics with yoghurt for the probiotics.
In America they donโt even recommend them ever.

I myself beleive eating fermented foods are way more beneficial than taking manufactured probiotics. Do you agree Nick? I make my own kefir, kombucha, sauerkraut, kimchi and tomatoes. Even my dog loves fermented foods :))
There is a time and a place for everything. Fermented foods are great but the reality is that 99% of people don’t eat enough and certain strains of probiotics you just wont get from food.

I had bronchitis almost every year for about 15 years, ages 36-51 for which I took antibiotics. Once I cut sugar way down, Iโve barely had to blow my nose at all, let alone phlegm getting into my lungs.
I eat plain, unsweetened greek yogurt with stevia, collagen, sprouted granola and either blueberries or pomegranate seeds nearly every day, in addition to Bubbies pickles, kambucha, sauerkraut or some other gut healthy food.
I hear ya. I’m 53 and have not seen a doc since age 18. don’t take OTC drugs. not been sick (cold, fever, runny nose) for 8 yrs. I too make my own kombucha, sauerkraut, ferment carrots, eggs, broccoli, grow . most of my greens. The key to good health is what you put in your body. The downsie: co-workers are jealous, Big foods and Big Pharma hate us people. Good.

Been healthy my whole life but since childhood “I have a weak stomach” had severe burn at 1 1/2 years old (was on antibiotics for weeks). Discovering better health at mid fifties including gut and probiotics, partially thanks to Dr. Z. Take probiotics sparodically. But mostly Apple Cider Vinegar does wonders for me. And running for overall health and toxin removal (sweat, breathing, going through higher amounts of water , am outdoors under the sunshine, ect.)
