trying hacks usually just disappoints me. I recommend cutting it in half, hitting the pit with the sharp end of a knife and twisting! just be careful with the knife!! also second!

Yes. The knife trick works every time. It also depends on how ripe your avocado is. This hack you’re trying might work if it’s really ripe. Good try though. At least you gave it a couple tries. Lol

Please don’t hit the knife into the seed instead place it on the seed and rock it into the seed then twist. It works every time and it’s way safer. My sister ended up with stitches from hitting the seed with a knife 😵

@Shanda Edmunds or put it on a cutting board and then hit it with the knife. if you try to use slow force instead of speed the avocado will squish!

Just stab it with a knife, twist, and it will come off. Same with cutting the avocado in half, twist both halves and they will separate. Also, don’t forger to take the avocado out by using spoon, it’s so effortless.

@SirAgravaine hmm… are the avocados ripe? Because if they are not ripe then it’s difficult to do.

The knife thing has never worked for me. I probably don’t have a sharp enough knife and don’t put enough force into it because I’m scared of using knives like that.

@Stephanie Martinez Lima you don’t have to stab it by the tip of the knife, that’s actually dangerous. I usually just stab it with the normal side of blade (as if I was cutting anything else) and that is way safer. But like you mentioned, you do need a sharp knife.

@Stephanie Martinez Lima for good reason you can end up with stitches from the stab method. Set your knife blade on the seed and rock it into the seed then twist. Works like a charm

I recommend cutting it in half (like you did), then taking a spoon, and scoop out the seed. It’s much easier than trying to pop it out.

Squeeze it from both sides. Dont push from the back. It will work better if the advocado is a little ripe.

If you whack the sharp edge of the knife into the seed and twist a little, the seed should dislodge (works most of the time)

If the flesh is sticking to the seed like that, which you could see when you split it in two, it’s not quite ripe enough to pop out the seed. But it does work!

Here’s a hack! Open it up then get your knife and place it on the seed and make sure two cut a tiny slit and twist. As simple as that! Hope this is helpful!❤️

If the seed is hard to remove, the avocado isn’t ripe. A ripe avocado seed falls right out

I have an avocado tool. Has a “blade” (made of plastic)for cutting, a pit remover and slotted scoop to scoop and slice the insides out. Works for me and worth it. Then I don’t have to worry about using a knife to hit the pit for removal.

I’ve recently starting gently but firmly squeeze and wiggle the seed half (holding the skin) and the seed just plops out. A lot safer for me than using the trusty knife stab method
