Could an unknown diagnosis of Addison’s disease have a link to this need of salt?
Totally true, mate!
How many tea spoon a day? Thanks
I gave guidelines in the video on the range of how much a day.
Great content! I’ve increased my salt intake over the past 6 months. Here’s when, where, and my findings. 1 tsp pink salt with my eggs in the morning after 45 minutes of steady state spin bike cardio. 1 tsp in my afternoon pre-workout meal, 1 tsp with my intra workout EAAs (took some getting used to), 1 tsp in my post workout meal. Most noticeable has been the refreshed feeling after my training. When I added the intra salt my endurance, energy and pumps were better and prolonged. During my weight training my muscles look and feel fuller than when I just was taking my EAAs alone. I’m sold on benefits of added pink salt.
Nice work!
Sounds great, just make sure your pink salt is iodised, whole other subject.
Ty for this article like everything else in moderation but without salt it can also cause health problems . ♥️🙏
🙂
I am 51. As a kid who was overweight I was told by my parents and doctor to avoid salt. Then many years later when my mother had to see a heart doctor due to a condition, they told her salt was bad and she needed to avoid it at all costs. Your video as well as several others have made me second guess that logic. Thanks!
You are welcome.
DR Dinicolantonio wrote a great book on salt. Robb wolf recommends alot too.
Yes, that is a great book. It’s a little more information than is needed for the average person, but good.
Amazing information 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you.
I like to cons
ume a glass of water with 2 tablespoons of ACV
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon pink salt
With my first meal
I was always taught to avoid salt. My dad told me since I was very young that salt kills so many people.
The medical community like doctors started the “eat less salt” back in the 70’s . Medical research and doctors are also responsible for the cholesterol lie. Good luck on finding a good doctor.
We’ve been lied to for years on purpose. So nice to see a doctor who actually cares about people
48 Man, lost 128lbs in 2016 and maintained since. Eat less salt was a well marketed phrase through the 80-90’s, baby boomer parents were happy to preach it to me. While I lost the weight I increased salt intake. My now office day daily is 4-6k mg, job site day in the Florida heat 6-12k mg. Redmond’s only. Never sea or table salts. Never felt better since pushing salt. I carry it with me: daily carry backpack, overnight kit, both cars, in my workout/man cave tool shop. My high school kids in band took 4K mg a day during band camp. They felt great all day while other students fell out and needed shade and more plain water just depleting their chloride levels even lower. If you have a craving for a sweet, like your finger tip, apply salt and lick it off. Bam! Craving gone.
Thanks for sharing.
Also I think the body is sort of self regulating (as long we dont drastically overconsume salt). We in general need a mix of sodium and potassium ions as the main electrolyte for our bodies to function but as I get it more sodium then potassium. To low on these ions and nerve signals cant fire, muscles dont work properly and not the brain either as these ions are the main conductors of all these signals, like electrical wire.
Self regulating and self healing.
same process with keto and fasting for long period you need electrolytes, sodium magn and cal, potassium. If you don’t have enough you get the keto flu all describe sides on here.
Last summer i was 280 everything was wacked, i drop to 240 yes still 30-40 to go but still my blood work is a lot better, i am also very massive been lifting for 37y.
Table salt is bad though
Stick to the ones I mentioned. They are the best.
I clean houses 3 days a week…8 hour days…. Had so much pain in my legs and feet… could this be due to not enough salt daily? I take 1000 mg of turmeric daily with 3000 mg each of glucosamine and condroiton…. I 8 ounce glass of coffee…. Eggs… probably 2 and sides of bacon…. On those 3 days…. It has literally changed me … that heavy exercise has brought my weight down and slimmed my body… for which these are good side benefits… I do the jacuzzi after work… and sauna….it’s been 3 weeks… my body has finally acclimated… today, I don’t hurt as bad and feel much better… I’m 63! I’m glad this job has forced me out of my complacent life style… I have knee issues and back problems… but it seems to be strengthening the back… thank you for the time you spend educating us… it really helps…. I know I’m not getting enough salt… how can I get more in my diet???
I explain how to get more in on the video.
How do you go about correcting an electrolyte imbalance? I experience some of the symptoms you listed, but the more salt I consume the more insatiable thirst I get. My electrolytes are so off that I’m retaining so much water suddenly (I’m ketovore/carnivore btw)
Dr.Z. Thanks for the great video and wealth information…!!!
