So basically it will be really hard to lose a lot of weight at one time, I suggest just start eating healthy and doing regular exercise and you should start to see some results. Extreme weight loss takes a lot of time though, since there is 3,500 calories in one pound. Eventually you will see a lot of weight loss and results if you stick to it

These tips are very grounded and I know with short form videos it’s kinda hard to do an anatomy lesson as well
but I wish she had said “flatter” abs rather than “flat abs” because for folks who have uteruses it is natural to have a paunch there even after losing weight and gaining muscle tone because the uterus presses outwards against the belly. However I get how this isn’t just targeted towards only one subset of people so maybe it wouldn’t have been very helpful.

There are certain exercises and training that can make your lower stomach shrink inward. Sometimes I get a little bloating, but most of the time my stomach is pretty flat

@Casandra I am well aware of how her videos are and some of the absolutely awful comments she has recieved. I quite like her style of teaching, in general! It is very accessible and easy to follow.
I just think the additional information would help a lot of people who have this false belief that a stomach can be perfectly flat and thus ignore how the natural shape of someone’s body may not permit “flat” abs. I think the nuance is important! Especially when someone is already including info on how genetics can influence how someone’s body may react to any sort of health change or fitness change.
Again this isn’t posted as like a hate comment. It is just a sincere, good faith thought I had when I watched the video and something that could have be addressed by adding three letters to the video. I saw the possibility for a potentially? easy to make edit (I know absolutely nothing about editting/posting videos) and a way to continue making blogilates videos as inclusive and body positive as she and her team could make them, which is in line with her brand/image/philosophy.

Pretty sure this is actually a misconception? The ‘uterus causes a pouch’- myth, I mean. “-Doctor forced to warn women that your womb and ‘tummy fat’ are different things- A doctor recently had to weigh in on an anatomical issue after some well-meaning (but inaccurate) fitness advice was shared on twitter. Dr. Sarah Jarvis, GP and clinical director of patient info was able to shed some light on what that ‘bump’ actually is: ‘Unless you’re pregnant or have a condition called fibrosis, which are non-cancerous growths on the muscle lining your womb, you can’t feel your uterus in your tummy.'” There are many people with uteruses who have completely flat bellies (myself included), and they do still, in fact, have uteruses in there. The uterus is very small and very very deep inside the body, it doesn’t show on the outside unless the person has a condition. The bump/pouch is simply just fat, and fat tends to gather in different places for different people. It’s natural, but just like with any other type of fat, it can in most cases be reduced by bringing the overall fat % down.

@nad n exactly! I’m the same way, without a pooch. A lot of people like to make up stuff on a subject they know nothing about, so they try to make themselves feel better about saying “my belly pooch is just organs not fat”

Yeah the last thing is really true bc I do have some weight on my belly which covers my abs but in certain angles the top part looks like, really toned? Idk

Great tips Cassey! I hate planks so much, id rather do anything else hahaha! I live how you say diet and genetics play also a huge role. There are certain foods that can make you bloated, specially if you are intolerant to them. My belly always gets big as a balloon when i consume diary products.

You forgot to mention that you cannot “target” fat in one area. As you loose weight it will go down everywhere. So not just on your belly.

This is false! Targeted fat loss does not work. You need to lose fat and build up that muscle to have visible abs, not just train core all the time. Also, especially for ladies, having visible abs might not be a healthy thing because your body fat percentage may drop too low. Be careful and don’t expect to look like an influencer!

Well, cardio will help you burn fat faster, but muscle burns fat. So if you build more muscle then it’ll actually slowly reduce the amount of fat you have.
