Hip flexors lift your knees, not your abs. That’s a terrible ab exercise. The contraction in your abs is minimal. Just because you feel something in the bottom part of your belly doesn’t mean it’s your abs. That’s where the iliopsoas lives. Deep beneath your abs.
If you want to work your abs with the knee raise you need to contract your abs. Hang from a bar and lift your butt up at the end of the movement. Just lifting your knees up is not enough. It’s the butt up part that causes most of the tension in your abs. And even then it’s a mediocre core strength builder.

I dont think its a terrible workout, if she did it laying down on a mat it would have worked out because thats similar to the pilates core exercises.
However this workout is good for stability/balance

I d like to have a complete workout especially that I want strong abs and lower back bit at the same time I don’t want to have a larger waist so its difficult to find the right abs movement 😽🙈

The is no right abs and no wrong abs workout. If you want to slim your waist you need to lose fat and hope to have good genetics. This exercises are good for building muscle and muscle endurance but you need to incorporate cardio and proper diet. Cassey used to say abs are made in the kitchen. She has older and long workouts on the channel that are good

Cassey you dont need to do complicated workouts for abs, this workout isnt the best for abs nor for beginners but its good for stability and balance, i like that.

This is a perfectly effective core exercise for someone who can’t do crunches or planks, which is who it’s intended for. There’s literally zero reason for your unfounded criticism unless you have some other alternative.

@Kiterpuss I don’t agree with you. This wasn’t unfounded criticism. The video wasn’t aimed at people who physically can’t do crunches/planks, it was aimed as a “quick fix minimal work”. This exercise is great for balance, as for abs, there are far better exercises to do.

Love this channel so much! I was wondering if maybe in the future you could make a quick video about that fact that everyone is perfect the way they are no matter weight or size, I know a lot of people who feel like they aren’t and it is really sad to see. I thought maybe watching an encouraging video would help.
